Day 63 - Hong Kong

Today was our 3rd day in Hong Kong.  Before I describe our ship excursion for today here are some pictures from last night.

First is a view from our table at M & C Duck where we enjoyed a Peking Duck meal.

Next is a picture of Victoria Harbour last night from our vantage point at the Clock Tower on the Kowloon side before the laser light show.

After breakfast this morning we headed out for our Kowloon Culture excursion.  Our first two shore visits here were on the Hong Kong side.  This visit gave us a taste of Kowloon.  First we went to the Bird Garden.  This was really a market place for the sale of birds.  Dogs and cats are not popular pets here because living accommodation is very small.  Birds are popular pets.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Next we visited a flower market.  There were masses of beautiful flowers!  Some were very unusual.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Next we visited Chi Lin Nunnery with its Buddhist Temple.  Here is a picture from outside the temple.  No photos were allowed inside.

Next we visited Nan Lian Garden.  This was a beautiful garden with over 2,000 Bonsai trees.  Here are some pictures.

We got back to the ship around 12:30 and had lunch on the pool deck.  Then we made our way to the Peninsula Hotel.  This is one of the poshest hotels in Hong Kong.  Here is a picture of the lobby.

We had dinner tonight with another lovely couple outside at La Terrazza as we watched the laser light show.  It was wonderful!

Tomorrow is a sea day.....
