We had an incredibly busy sea day today. We started with breakfast in our stateroom at around 8:00 am. We moved on to a lecture by Michael Buerk entitled "Sorry, it is to do with Islam". It was the most informative and thoughtful presentation of the situation I have ever heard and scary at that!
At noon we were invited to a "Lunch and Learn" with David Bilsland where we learned how to prepare Seared Scallops on Wilted Spinach, Duck Two Ways and Warm White Wine Poached Peach Melba. We got to enjoy the dishes with wine pairings. Delicious!
This afternoon we attended a lecture by Jaime Castillo entitled
" Archaeological Excavations of the Sacred Temples and Royal Tombs of the Moche".
Following that was the "Crossing the Equator Ceremony" on the Pool Deck. I described this in an earlier post. Interesting!
Next was the destination lecture by Jon Fleming on Manta, Ecuador - our port for tomorrow.
At 6:00 pm there was a reception for the passengers doing the world cruise. We met up with a lovely woman we had met earlier and moved on to dinner with my penpal from Cruise Critic, his lovely wife, an archaeologist and the lovely woman we joined at the reception. A wonderful evening!
Tomorrow is Manta, Ecuador......
