Day 47 - Sea Day

Today is a sea day.  After breakfast we attended a lecture by Captain Wal Cray entitled "Matthew Flinders: The Man who put Australia on the Map".

At 11:15 am we attended a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Anne-Mari Cornelius and one of her chefs from Mexico named Zara.  Anne-Mari made and we tasted Seared Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Air and Mango Custard with Lemon Gel and Coconut Sorbet.  Delicious!  Zara demonstrated some of the techniques used in molecular cooking.  Fascinating!

This afternoon we will attend a destination lecture by Jon Fleming on Thursday Island.

Tonight we have been invited to dine at Le Champagne to celebrate the birthday of the woman from Naples, Florida we met early in the cruise.  Her 85th!  We were hoping to get a corsage for her but flowers other than orchids are scarce on the ship.  The Guest Relations Manager made an exquisite rose out of paper and I attached it to a ribbon to form a wrist corsage.  It turned out beautifully!

Tonight should be great fun!

Tomorrow is Thursday Island...
