When we got up this morning there was a big red heart attached to the outside of our suite door. Happy Valentine's Day!
We had a full day planned for our second day in Sydney, Australia. After breakfast we took the ship's shuttle bus to Darling Harbour. We headed to our first stop - The Chinese Friendship Garden. It was very warm but the walk was beautiful.
Here is a picture of hearts floating in the water at Darling Harbour for Valentine's Day.
There was a huge display along our walk to celebrate Chinese New Year. Here is a picture of pandas.
Next are pictures from the Chinese Friendship Garden. It was a beautiful place and I took lots of pictures. It was hard to choose which ones to add here.
We stayed for about an hour and then made our way to Paddy's Market. This is a huge place with about 1,000 vendor stalls selling clothing, jewelry, souvenirs and electronics. It reminded us of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
We walked back to Darling Harbour to catch the Hop On Hop Off bus to Circular Quay. We boarded the Fast Ferry to Manly at about 12:30 pm. We walked down The Corso from the ferry wharf and had a draft beer at Hotel Steyne. Then we ordered a picnic lunch of shrimp, calamari, crab stick and fish and chips and took it to eat at the beach. Delicious! Here is a Manly beach picture.
We took the ferry back to Circular Quay at around 3:40 pm. From Circular Quay we got back on the Hop On Hop Off bus to Darling Harbour and then on the ship's shuttle back to White Bay Cruise Terminal. We arrived back at the ship at 6:00 pm.
We were still full from our big lunch so we went to the pool deck for drinks and nachos and watched the sunset.
Tomorrow is Newcastle, Australia.....
