When we got back to our suite last night after dinner there was a beautiful thunder storm happening off in the distance. No storm where we were. It was warm and a little windy but in the distance we watched the awesome display from our balcony.
Today, after breakfast, we attended a lecture by Captain Wal Cray, a mariner. He had spent a number of years as a pilot for ships traveling along the east coast of Australia. He was very entertaining! His topic was "Lt James Cook, RN". RN here refers to Royal Navy. The lecture detailed the first voyage of exploration by James Cook.
Next came a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Anne-Mari Cornelius. She made and we sampled Braised Wagyu Beef with Home Made BBQ sauce and Poached Egg "Parcel" with Truffles and Dates. Delicious!
We did another 9 laps around the jogging track - sometimes a struggle into head wind! So far I have gained 3 pounds since Miami and Myster has gained a little more.
This afternoon we will attend a destination lecture by Jon Fleming on our next port of Townsville, Australia.
We are dining tonight with a couple of wonderful gents who are fellow passengers on the World Cruise. Should be fun!
Sea days make for a boring read so here are a couple pictures of our suite. First is the shelf in front of our bed. The rose was given to me by Silversea staff on Valentine's Day. The stuffed kiwi was a gift from a lovely fellow passenger. The Valentine card was delivered to our suite on Valentine's Day from a secret admirer (I suspect it was from Silversea). The heart shaped chocolates were from our butler Pauline and our suite attendant Lucian.
Next is a picture of the door of our suite. The red hearts later appeared on the wall by our bed (courtesy of our butler I think).
Tomorrow is a sea day.....
