We sailed from Dubai at about 7:00 am this morning. Myster has caught the dreaded cough and cold that has been plaguing the ship since Ft Lauderdale. The ship's doctor suspects that someone boarded with it and was not honest on the embarkation health questionnaire. Almost all the passengers have been affected and each time new passengers board at the start of each new segment, more people get sick. We have avoided it until now. Some people have been on antibiotics and some were in the ship's infirmary for days. It is a nasty bug! To avoid spreading it further we have restricted our access to other passengers.
We will be entering the high risk area for Somali pirates after we leave Muscat tomorrow. We received information on the security rules last night. Today I went to a lecture by the Captain on the risk and the security rules that will be put in place. Hopefully we will have a safe cruise between tomorrow (April 10) to April 14 when we get to the Red Sea.
We will have dinner in our suite tonight so that Myster will not have to dress up for informal night when a jacket for men is required.
Tomorrow we dock in Muscat, Oman. There is another World Cruise event with Music in Muscat at the Royal Opera House.
