Question 6

Question:  What was the most laps you did around the track?  Did you stop going?  Why?

The walking/jogging track was on Deck 9 of the ship.  It also served as a sundeck.  There were lounges aligned along the outer edges leaving a somewhat narrow "aisle" to navigate.  Nine times around the track was the equivalent of one mile.  That is the most laps we did in any one go.  We usually managed to do the mile in about 16 minutes (providing the "aisle" was relatively clear).

We typically did our deck walking on sea days as most of our port days involved tours or exploration with plenty of exercise.  On sea days we would attend a couple lectures in the morning and do our walks before lunch.  At the beginning of the cruise temperatures were warm and pleasant.  As we cruised closer to the equator things definitely heated up.  At that point walking became torturous.  As the cruise continued there were more and more port days and fewer and fewer sea days.  Our walks were abandoned on the ship and were replaced with the exercise on our tours.
