148 Days And Counting.....

For our third day in the port of Hong Kong we are considering another half-day tour.  This one is called Kowloon Culture.  The description of this excursion appears below.

"Explore the splendid culture and landmarks of Hong Kong during a picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion to this dynamic city.

Bird Garden and Flower Market
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Bird Garden. With its lovely courtyard, moon gates, and diverse collection of melodious songbirds, the Bird Garden is truly a sensory delight. Upon arrival, take a stroll through the gardens. Along the way, admire the fancy teak cages, tiny porcelain water bowls, and delightful songbirds. From here, continue on to the aromatic Flower Market, the hub of Hong Kong's wholesale and retail floral business. Specialist shops and sidewalk displays showcase exotic blooms and plants from all over the world, as well as Hong Kong's New Territories.

Chi Lin Nunnery
Next, re-board your coach and proceed for a visit to the Chi Lin Nunnery. Located in downtown Hong Kong, this Buddhist nunnery is stunning, with its monastery complex having been renovated as a piece of Tang Dynasty architecture. The grand and elegant complex is sure to become one of China's great cultural attractions in the years to come. The Chi Lin Nunnery also features other halls containing a treasure trove of religious relics, as well as restful lotus ponds.

Nan Lian Garden

Your last stop is at the Nan Lian Garden. A Tang garden built amidst the urban hustle and bustle, its architecture and landscaping embody a sense of serenity, tranquility and classical Chinese culture. Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier."
